As an experienced software engineer who's honed their skills over decades, you don't feel threatened. But what if corporate leaders become so confident about AI that there are no more entry level jobs, or the only people applying for entry level jobs are "vibe coders"? As veteran senior devs exit or retire it seems like the talent pipeline for future engineers is going to be broken or non existant.

Imagine if a boss demanded that you write code that can’t be run first and yelled at you if it didn’t immediately work on a one-shot… Also liked the insights about not feeling threatened. Totally agree and it’s usually people who don’t do a certain profession who look at LLMs/deep learning and say that it can totally replace a profession (… Geoff Hinton and doctors, say…).
